Dr. Ciprian Cazan

Dr. Gheorghe “Ciprian” Cazan received his undergraduate degree in Medical Bioengineering followed by his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2004.  Both degrees were obtained from the Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine in Iasi, Romania.  Following his graduation, he spent the next few years working in the Emergency Hospital Iasi before immigrating to Canada in 2007.  While in Canada, Dr. Cazan continued his medical studies, worked as a medical volunteer and prepared for the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE).

In 2012 Dr. Cazan then moved to Norwalk, Connecticut where he completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Postgraduate training at Norwalk Hospital.  This prestigious three year program is affiliated with Yale University, and has a long tradition of producing knowledgeable and caring physicians.

After selecting Nephrology as his specialty, in 2015 Dr. Cazan was then accepted into the two year Fellowship Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.  He successfully completed his training there in 2017.

The next chapter in life brought Dr. Cazan to the Rogue Valley.  Working as a Hospitalist, he spent a year at Asante Three Rivers Hospital in Grants Pass followed by two years at Providence Medical Center in Medford.

In May of 2020, Dr. Cazan joined Renal Care Consultants, P.C. as a full-time Nephrologist. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology and is also credentialed at Asante Rogue Regional and Providence Medical Centers. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Nephrology.  Dr. Cazan is fluent in Romanian, English and French and also speaks some Spanish.  In his free time he enjoys reading, beekeeping and hiking.
